2015 Easter China Schools & Cities Visiting Programme 28th March – 12th April, 2015
A Unique Opportunity to Visit China
China, with its profound culture and vibrant economy, has attracted more and more attention from the western world to this old and mythical land. An old Chinese saying goes “he who does not reach the Great Wall is not a true man”. During this visiting programme, students will not only have the opportunity to walk on the Great Wall of China, but also have the unique chance to walk into every aspect of the life in China – from history to culture, from school education to language, from transportation to delicious food, and etc.
In the first week of this two-week programme, you will have the opportunity to meet your student pal in one of the top schools in Shanghai or a surrounding city (Hangzhou, Suzhou, Nanjing or Changzhou). You may feel a bit nervous at first, but will soon find yourself in an interesting and exciting environment, surrounded by friendly people with smiley faces. You will be accompanied by your student pals to join their classes and activities, teaching some English to them whilst learning calligraphy or Chinese musical instrument from them, not to mention a superb family stay experience at your pal’s home. In the meantime, as the language exchange starts to work, you can gradually pick up some Chinese words and hopefully carry out simple conversations with your pals in Mandarin Chinese!
At the beginning of the second week, all the visiting students will re-gather in Shanghai to share your school experiences with each other, and prepare to begin an exciting journey up north, all the way to Beijing thanks to China’s high-speed train! After a taste of Shanghai’s modern and international culture, we will set off to experience the ancient side of China – the gardens and water towns in Suzhou, the ancient capital city of Nanjing, the most famous mountain of all China – Mount Tai which was worshiped by many Chinese Emperors, and finally the modern China capital – Beijing which boasts wonderful cultural and historical buildings. Come for the amazing experience of the ancient and 21st Century China!
