We believe culture is borderless. Five thousand years of Chinese culture has seen the manifold art and wisdom of the Chinese people. To carry forward these well-preserved cultural heritages, we have worked together with other organisations in organising a series of cultural events to promote cultural exchanges between UK and China.

CEEDS Chinese Culture Day at Cambridge Harston and Newton Primary School

To share the culture and festivity with young students in Cambridge, we have held a one-day integrated event named “Chinese Culture Day” right on the Chinese New Year’s Day (Saturday 25th January), aiming to bring together cultural elements through demonstrations, lectures and workshops. This year the event took place at Cambridge Harston and Newton Primary School.

Chinese culture displays at the Cambridge Hills Festival

The 5th Hills Festival was successfully held at the Hills Road Sixth Form College. This is the first time for Cambridge CEEDS Society to participate in this annual cultural festival, for this we have prepared two dedicated workshops to entertain the young students – an introduction to Chinese language and calligraphy, as well as a Chinese tea ceremony.

Opening ceremony of Mr. YANG Xiaomin’s traditional Chinese painting exhibition

The opening ceremony of Mr. YANG Xiaomin’s traditional Chinese painting exhibition was held at the Michaelhouse Centre in Cambridge on Monday 21st October. Themed “Northern China Villages”, this exhibition displays 20 paintings by Mr. YANG who is from Nanjing University Oriental Artworks Centre. Present in the opening ceremony include Chinese Embassy representative Ms. FENG Xinzeng, the Michaelhouse Centre manager Ms. Sue Binns and scholars and artists from Cambridge. Chinese ‘craze’ in Cambridge—Traditional Chinese Painting Exhibition by Mr. JI Guoqiang

June of Cambridge is the most enjoyable time of the year with the beautiful sunshine and wavering willows along the River Cam. During 6-25 June, 2011, a traditional Chinese painting exhibition has been held in Michaelhouse of Cambridge. A grand opening ceremony for Mr. Luo Hong’s photographic exhibition

A grand opening ceremony for Mr. Luo Hong’s photographic exhibition was held on June 14th in Cambridge University’s Sedgwick Museum. This exhibition of Luo Hong, a famous photographer and environmentalist in China, was titled ‘Ode to the Earth’ and featured two themes: African wildlife and western Chinese landscapes. Over 100 people attended the ceremony, including students and faculty of Cambridge University, senior officers from the UNEP and news reporters. For more information please click here…
